HB267
Utah Senate Democrats Condemn Governor Cox’s Signature of H.B. 267 into Law
FEBRUARY 15, 2025
SALT LAKE CITY—The Utah Senate Democrats issued the following statement after Governor Cox signed H.B. 267, Public Sector Labor Union Amendments, into law: “With profound disappointment and concern, the Utah Senate Democrats are disheartened by Governor Cox’s decision to sign H.B. 267 into law. This bill not only threatens the safety and well-being of our civil servants but also blatantly disregards the strong opposition voiced by these workers. The ability to negotiate safe working conditions, fair wages, and respect is essential in recognizing the dedication of our public sector employees, who selflessly serve our communities. The Utah Senate Democrats have always and will always stand for workers’ rights, unions, and the protection of those who protect us. Our caucus will continue to support the constitutional rights of workers to advocate for themselves in opposition to this legislation.”
