PLATE DISTRIBUTION UPDATE: We have reached (and surpassed!) the required 500 applications to make this plate a reality. At this point, it is up to the DMV to process the applications, print, and mail out the plates. If you have ever interacted with the DMV (or any government agency), you would not be surprised to expect that this might take a while. We expect the plates to be delivered by January 2025 AT THE LATEST. From our communications with the DMV, we are confident that they will be out before then. I also wanted to let you know that calling your local DMV will not get you any updates as the local staff are not involved in this process. Thank you for the support, and patience, and for making this a reality!

Through the creation of this bill, people are able to purchase a special license plate to not only show their support for the preservation of the Great Salt Lake but also contribute to a fund managed by the Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands which will be used to benefit and conserve the Great Salt Lake watershed and ecosystem.
